The delayed start or cancel of school due to weather concerns will be determined the morning of prior to the buses running at 5:30 A.M. There was a glitch in the computer software which caused some forms not to show originally. We apologize for the inconvenience but we need these forms completed by September 20th. FISD Text Messaging Service Franklin ISD will be using a texting service to keep parents informed of news and activities on their child’s campus, as well as things that affect students district-wide. Some have received a text to opt into this service, but if you did not receive it you may still opt-in by texting: y (for yes) to the number 675-87. It is always the goal of Franklin ISD to keep our parents and community informed about what is happening within our district. Franklin ISD Performance Rating The 2019 performance ratings were released today for all Texas school districts. Based on the results released from the Texas Education Agency, the Franklin Independent School District along with all three campuses received an “A” rating for its overall student academic performance. Important Information for 2019/20 School Year Franklin ISD parents: For the 2019-2020 school year, Franklin ISD will be implementing a new backpack policy. All students (PreK-12) may only carry clear plastic or mesh backpacks to all campuses. All other backpacks will not be allowed for safety purposes. Our priority is the safety of our students and hope this policy will help to continue to keep our campuses safe and secure. Female students will be allowed to include a small pouch inside their backpack for personal belongings. The school will have some available to purchase at a low cost as the new school year approaches. Information on bags needed for other school activities will be provided by the coaches and sponsors.
